I Believe in Peddie

Peddie is always striving to become the best version of itself. And parent volunteer, former PPA President and Trustee Sheryl Oliver P’17 ’19 has ideas for how to keep Peddie progressing … along with the resolve to put those ideas into action.

“I felt there were places where Peddie could improve,” she said.

Several factors contributed to Sheryl’s decision to give back to Peddie. Initially, she was inspired by Ambassador Walter H. Annenberg’s gift and its impact. She is also intent on providing access for the brightest and most exciting students.

“I think it’s so important that the education that students get at Peddie is available to all kids,” she asserted. “That diversity is such an integral part of the transformational experience.”

Another catalyst for Sheryl’s decision to give back was her tenure as a board member, which made a lasting and profound impression on her.

“It was a really eye-opening experience about how Peddie is run. That group has such a passion to continually drive Peddie to improve, to continue to question how things could be better. They listened; they wanted to hear what I had to say. And that’s a group of people I want to continue to support in their mission.”

“I believe in Peddie,” she continued. “I believe Peddie strives for improvement. I can’t do what Annenberg did, but I can do my part. And I think if each family gives what they can, then collectively we can do for Peddie today what Annenberg did then to insure greater access for a diverse group of students.”

We hope you will continue dreaming about what you want Peddie to be in 25 years.
